The Giving Hearts Day fundraising event held Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018, raised $13.2 million through 63,635 donations. Final figures indicate 28,044 Giving Hearts donated, approximately 6,300 more than in 2017.
Giving Hearts Day has now raised over $54 million for charities in North Dakota and northwest Minnesota. Contributions to 401 charitable causes participating in this year’s event surpassed last year’s $10.7 million raised.
Giving Hearts Day is hosted by Dakota Medical Foundation (DMF), Impact Foundation and the Alex Stern Family Foundation.
Founded in 2008, Giving Hearts Day is a 24-hour event for charities in North Dakota and northwest Minnesota. Each year, Giving Hearts Day provides a platform for charities to fund their missions through an ever-increasing community of donors, many of whom get to experience the joy of giving for the first time. The longest-running giving day in the country, Giving Hearts Day has helped participating charities raise more than $165 million since its founding.
