RiverView Health Foundation

This year’s second place fundraiser in the Small Budget category is RiverView Health Foundation, a nonprofit organization with the primary purpose of securing charitable funds on behalf of RiverView Health. These funds aid their mission to provide world-class healthcare through a culture of excellence.

The Foundation has been part of Giving Hearts Day since its beginning in 2008, so their campaign has become a well-oiled machine. They began by sending out emails and print materials, as well as getting in touch with past donors about match gifts a few months before the end of 2023. They also distributed table tents to each of their locations that explained Giving Hearts Day and displayed a scannable QR code for individuals to donate right then and there.

Once early giving opened, they spread the word through emails, and engaged their employees by reminding them that their gifts of $10 or more would be matched by their vendor, New Horizon Foods, and their CEO.

The money raised from Giving Hearts Day will significantly alleviate the costs of replacing sterilizers in their Surgical Services Department. Doing so will allow their team to:

  • Increase the number of surgical hours by 7%
  • Reduce the amount of downtime associated with maintenance repairs by 50%
  • Reduce the number of cancellations and reschedules by 25%

RiverView Health services go beyond the surgical department. The team offers an extensive list of outpatient addiction services that allow patients to receive high-caliber clinical care while maintaining commitments to work, family, and home. They also have a RiverView Angel Fund, a program that serves to brighten the lives of patients going through difficult health issues or hardships.
